To Plan or Not to Plan - and how much do you stick to the plan?
After a break I notice things more. I realized in one recent class, the first after the break ended, that the children were having much more fun than usual. I had not painted too much of a picture of what they were supposed to be doing. I was allowing them to discover movements and be leaders.
I do the leader thing a lot, but somehow it is too canned. Stepping back by having a couple or weeks off makes it possible to see when you are more or less meddling in the learning process.
It is rather difficult for me to believe that I have been teaching somewhere around 36 years and I still have not found the "magic formula". Of course there isn't one. It is all about balance. The middle way.
