I have embarked on expanding my Skype teaching.

This evening I taught 3 students - a mother and her son and daughter - on Skype.  I am working out the kinks in this medium.  I love it that they moved to LA and still want to learn piano from me.  It takes a little longer for them to see what to do sometimes - I may need to get a remote camera so they can see hand positions when I cannot seem to communicate them effectively.  I have a built in video that works.

I also have another Skype student who will be taking regular improvisation lessons with me.  I hope to get another one soon.  It is somehow a cool challenge to do this.  Hey, if I were in Bali and had a keyboard and a wireless connection with my laptop I could teach people all over the world.

My goal has not ever been Bali - more like the Mediterranean - a villa overlooking from Italy or Greece. We'll see!

I am certainly off topic, though it is all revolving around music teaching.  I have started my classes - one week and then 2 off for the holidays.  I have also started most of my students again.  Seems like September has been part of an extended summer in some ways.  

I will get so super busy in October that I will be drowning. But things are just like that.  Seasonal work - make hay when the sun shines.
