Second WAY later post

The fall is arriving - again - as it does every year.

When I went to check on enrollments in some of my classes, they were not enrolled much yet.  I sometimes feel relieved about this, though of course I want classes to run. It is just difficult to keep the quality and enthusiasm up class after class and year after year.

That is where mixing things up a bit more comes in.   I am completely out of teaching music in regular academic schools.  I have had it with the rigamarole of students misbehaving and all of the channels you have to "tune into" to get this corrected.  If I have a music student in a class in a music student, I just talk to the parent directly.  There is no homeroom teacher, no administrative position, and no required formal conference.  So, it gets solved more quickly in most cases.

So, mixing it up involves the piano improv lessons via Skype mostly and the work with injured pianists.  This can also be via Skype.  I see myself doing more and more workshops and some travel in the next couple of years.  By the time I am 60 I will be out of all music schools and completely self employed.  That is in 3 years and it is going to happen.

I don't know where I really want to live.  I love having a New York City area place and hope to keep one all of the time.  I have always wanted a place on the Mediterranean Sea.  I recently saw a picture of exactly what I want.  I have to download it and make it my screen saver.

As for the regular fall activities coming up, I know they will be fine.  I am just in vacation mode and not ready to "go there" yet.
