Music for Toddlers classes will be meeting at Lucy Moses School of Music on Thursdays and at the Thurnauer School of Music on Mondays.
Class components are:
Warm up - songs and games using children's names. The very youngest students pay extra attention when you sing their names. Also, students and caregivers alike enjoy becoming familiar with everyone in the class. Musical component beyond keeping the beat to the song or songs is changing tempos - going faster and going slower. Attached song is Ev'rybody Name Song.
Riding songs - also may including rocking and swaying. As the class progresses children and their caregivers can invent their own ways to rock and sway, becoming leaders in the class. Song attached is Let's Go Riding Together.
Tickles - rhymes (choral speech) and songs that include a tickle or having the parent/caregiver interact in a fun and physical way with their child in class. As of first week we have not done these.
Songs with contrasts such as loud (forte) and quiet (piano).
Instrumental songs - including clapping songs and songs with a verse and chorus.
Look for additional songs week to week.
songs as the classes progress.
